Terms & Conditions

eTutoringOnline.org Terms of Service

  1. In order to use eTutoring, you must agree to the following terms and conditions:

    1. Your eTutoring account is considered part of your educational experience. It may not violate any of the rules or regulations of your institution, including plagiarism policies, copyright laws, and all other applicable laws.
    2. Please keep in mind that you are expected to bring the same academic comportment to the eTutoring environment that you would bring to any classroom. Your institution and eTutoring reserve the right to remove any material that violates these rules, including the removal of your entire eTutoring account, if warranted.
    3. This is your personal tutoring account. You cannot use this account to submit another person’s work to eTutoring.
    4. All eTutoring sessions (eQuestions, Live/Zoom sessions, Writing Lab submissions) are archived for use by eTutoring and your institution for quality assurance purposes. Should you choose to use audio and/or video options in our Zoom rooms, please be aware that your image and voice will be recorded and archived.
      • If you are unwilling to have your video image recorded during live sessions via Zoom, be sure to turn your camera off and do not use a profile image. Likewise, if you are not willing to have your voice recorded during live Zoom sessions, you will need to keep your mute button activated and communicate exclusively using the "chat" feature.
    5. eTutoring may use de-identified Data for product development, research, or other purposes. De-identified Data will have all direct and indirect personal identifiers removed. This includes, but is not limited to, name, ID numbers, date of birth, demographic information, location information, and school ID.
    6. If you are creating this account yourself, you verify that you are currently a registered or matriculated student with the institution you selected on this page.
    7. The following student information is required to have an account with eTutoring:
      1. Student name
      2. Student email address
      3. Username
      4. Password (encrypted)
      5. Optional Information
        • Student unique identifier (encrypted, not required for standard operations).
        • For single sign-on integration: student LMS username
        • This information is securely stored and protected per eTutoring’s Data Sharing Agreement with your institution.
    8. eTutoring will use your data only for the purpose of fulfilling its duties and providing services under this Agreement, and for improving services under this Agreement. Data will not be used for any purpose other than the specific purposes outlined in this Agreement.
    9. You are responsible for any information you submit to eTutoring that falls outside of the student information provided under section G above.

    The security of the information you provide to eTutoring is important and requires your participation. Any information you provide in the course of your work in eTutoring, including, but not limited to, the content of Zoom sessions, the content of eQuestions, and any and all work submitted to the Writing Lab, that is beyond the scope of the information identified in Section G, above, is done so voluntarily and without the knowledge or consent of eTutoring.  eTutoring does not monitor and/or guarantee the confidentiality or security of such information.  Additionally, any information you provide through eTutoring shall not contain any content that violates any applicable law, regulation, or right of a third party.  eTutoring and its governing agencies shall have no liability or responsibility for the protection of the information you voluntarily provide.  As such, you agree to make no claim against eTutoring or its governing agencies relating to the protection of the additional information you voluntarily enter into the eTutoring platform.
